YOHJI YAMAMOTO MEN’S SPRING/SUMMER 2024 FASHION SHOW – Men’s Fashion Week June 2023 Paris, France
For every Yohji Yamamoto show his clothing is the same yet different. He finds ways to display his exquisite, extremely well tailored, underground spy style of clothing, similar yet distinctively different each collection. These are some of the finest fabrics made, each garment flows gracefully and looks like something I’d love to wear to bed. Comfy, swirling effortlessly with the perceptible Yohji Yamamoto vision. Sweet dreams are made of Yohji Yamamoto.
The greys, blacks and purples were excellent choices of colors. There were vests on top of vests, layer upon layer of cool comfortable fabrics displaying high end unhoused chicness throughout the show. And I swear I saw a couple of outfits with various width pant legs on the same pair of pants. See if you can find this? And the use of a brimful of buttons is playful yet very stylish at the same time. There’s also some hidden Where’s Waldo sightings of various shapes of the letter Y throughout the runway show. Catch em’ if you can.
The show oozed comfort and high end fabrics that gave me comfort and a sense of warm sunshine within my soul. Yohji Yamamoto’s clothes look similar throughout the years, yet this show felt even more eloquent, more elegant, more high-end vagabond chic than ever.

Sexy Italio Disco Sunrise at GCDS
Dateline: GCDS SPRING SUMMER 24 “MEDITERRANEO” Fashion Show. Milano, Italy. September 22, 2023
GCDS first caught my attention with their last runway show that featured Spongebob and Patrick Star. SpongeBob SquarePants is My granddaughter-Adalyn and my favorite show to watch on a lazy Saturday morning on Oahu.
GCDS’ founder and creative director is Giuliano Calza. And the GCDS acronym stands for Giuliano Calza Design Studio. Pink is their signature color. In 2017 CGDS had their international debut on an amazing Pink Runway. They propagate our world by fusing pop culture, the Luxe-Life and Italian craftsmanship into one big bold cutting-edge creative collective.
In 2020, GCDS led the way with the first runway show in the metaverse. Virtual attendees included: Amina Muaddi, Dua Lipa & Hello Kitty, all sitting in the FRONT row!
Many celebrities enjoy this sophisticated high-end streetwear label including: Beyonce, Sophia Loren, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, GCDS was the first brand to put on a runway show in the metaverse, earning the digital cover of Dazed. Sealing the digital show’s success were Amina Muaddi, Dua Lipa and Hello Kitty, among others, sitting (virtually) in the front row

Diesel’s Sexy Inter-Galactic Rave
The Diesel Spring/Summer 2024 Runway Show. Milan, Italy. September 20, 2023. Designer: Glenn Martins. #ForSuccessfulLiving
Mutated Textiles,Zombie-Crypt Models,Ripped,Torn and Adorned clothing fueled the Diesel S/S24 Runway show in Milan.
The show starts out with excessively torn, distressed yet intricately tailored textiles straight from the Zombie apocalypse or their underground burial ground. Later it takes us into space with a similar aesthetic with brighter colors and even more sexiness added to the models and the attire. Next we visit a new beginning with slick colorful body hugging futuristic materials revealing a new birth towards the future. All while pacing perfectly along the catwalk to an amazing Techno blasting background. I would recommend watching the show with the volume turned up all the way! And if you listen closely enough you may hear what my ears heard: Subtle Gun Shots, Eerie Sci-Fi and Air Raid Sirens.

DIESEL DELECTABLES:
The show encompassed an extensive 73 different looks! By Belgian Designer: Glenn Martens. Close to 5,000 attended the show. During the show Bella Hadid’s doppelganger appeared at the finale. Her look-alike is a London model named: Dalton Dubois, and as you can see she looks exactly like Bella!
After the show they used the space to do a 3-day film Festival with 10 great movies including: The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Spirited Away, Downsizing, Death Proof, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Dunkirk, Wall-E, Madres Paralelas and Mulholland Drive. To get your hands on some dope drip from Diesel, click here

My all time favorite team is Chelsea, since that is where I stayed while in London. And my 3rd favorite is Molinkbeek, because when I was 10 years old I went to a French speaking school in Brussels,Belgium and that was our team from the area we lived in. BTW: It was during the energy crisis and we walked to school in a pitch black atmosphere, that was the norm during the 1970s, but super scary at the same time.

Kim Jones brought the heat to the frigid Paris winter. Bellowing, fluid, ultra comfortable clothing awaiting Men and Women to float into them, pea-cocking or lounging at a nouveau-riche Ibizian Pool Party. So comfy are the clothes, one could be tempted to sleep in them on a cool Autumn night.
I’m a sucker for baggy over the knee shorts, so these are clothes I would wear. Baggy over the knee shorts are top 3 in my book, next to Jordans/Rick Owens Kicks and baggie hoodies/long sleeve T’s,
The show is a spectacle with languid models on the runway and the big screen. Along with a full orchestra and an emotional poem written by T.S Elliot just after WW1, voiced by Robert Pattinson and Gwedoline Christie. The show adds an ode to the iconic river Thames in London and the Seine in Paris. And some historic references in the clothing to the great Yves Saint Laurent.
The sublime heavenly fluid clothing is definitely the number one hit of the show in desert, beige, not quite white, slate grey and of course black. Skirts for men are in every Paris 2023 show I’ve seen, these are some of the better versions. They do look pretty comfortable, just hard to find a place to wear them. The dangling straps are also nice, yet almost seem a bit too 2019. Then there are a few oddities like the bright light blue items, The dense lacquered jackets and “Is that a life jacket” towards the end of the show? And let me know in the comments section if this is a Hit or a Miss-The “I know What You Did Last Summer” fisherman hats

Tips:
- Head to the Shoes and Purses first. They are next to each other. One year, I found both Prada and Bape kicks in my size. Score!
- Next, straight to the Aloha wear. Do not stop at the toys or sports clothes on the way. The best Aloha gear goes quick. And there are some very High quality shirts and brands. Tori Richard, Reyn Spooner, Cooke Street, Ono, Tommy Bahama & More
- Now, it’s time for the sports jerseys. This year, my friend Amanda scored a primo condition Walter Peyton Bears Jersey. And I bought a Mitchell & Ness MAYS 660 BONDS Jersey in perfect condition.
- Set a budget ahead of time. Both years, I had a pre set budget and put back what was not in budget. Just like a sample sale, a budget is needed.
- Grab Quick, Grab Fast, put back what you don’t want. The first half hour is just like a NYC Sample sale. You want to get the good stuff before it’s gone. Trick to this is don’t think much, just go for what looks good, grab it fast. Then weed through your goods before check-out. People were eyeing my Willie Mays jersey for close to 2 hours, seeing if I would put it back. And I was eyeing a pair of Gucci sneakers, both the jersey and the shoes did not go back.
