NYC AF1-100% Pure Fya!

Empire State of Kicks

Extra Butter released some sweet kicks earlier today (2/9/18) Nike Air Force 1 High & Low “NYC”.  Nice Dark Blue Obsidian with Brilliant Orange swoosh and soles. With reflective velcro on the High Tops, matching the vibe of the City workers and Street Fashionista’s World-Wide.

AF1 NYC - Extra Butter 1

The Back has a nice Firehouse inspired logo and you can’t miss the NYC on the front top. They come in High and Low tops. I for sure, prefer the High-Tops with the Reflective Orange and Silver Accents. AF1-Extra Butter 5
Here’s an up close look at the Fire House inspired logo on the back of the Kicks:

The sole has a bit of the Famed Pigeon Dunk flavor. My favorite 2 colors, the NYC Branding & the Reflective tape. Hope to get an email to get a pair. Fingers and Toes both crossed!

Crossover to these New Kicks

The Crossover Culture B-Ball Kicks
The-Crossover-New-Shoe-Web

The Goods

The philosophy behind the Crossover Culture kicks is they are for all positions on the court. Since Big Men are shooting 3’s and dishing dimes.  And shorter guys are rockin’ the rim with high-flying dunks, these shoes are made for everyone.

They’re designed by B-Ball players for B-Ball players.  And their big selling point is they are comfortable str8t out of the box and the special LP cushion system will last a looong time before wearing out. If it wears out at all.

The Kicks come in both Hi & Low tops. I’d go with the Hi-Tops, up to you.

Here is the information directly from Crossover Culture as found on the EastBay Blog.

And below is a special YouTube video telling us more about the new Crossover Culture Kicks.

Materials: Crossover Culture uses premium materials to provide structure and support while also zone-engineering key elements like stability and breath ability where you need them the most. This means the shoes don’t need a lot of overlays and support structures added on, giving you a lightweight feel that still provides plenty of protection and support.
Cushioning: A zero-compression set compound doesn’t break down over time like traditional foams, giving you the same resilient cushioning from Day 1 to Day 101. The proprietary cushioning is optimized for impact protection and stability control, so you’re always comfortable and ready to roll on the court.
Stability: A wishbone suspension system offers dual-direction stability without restricting flex zones, striking the perfect balance between cushioned comfort and speed on the court. This keeps you comfortable and in control even at high speeds. A molded external mid-sole heel counter increases lightweight stability at the point of impact, minimizing injury risk without weighting you down.

Oakland Museum Kicks!

Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture

Oakland Museum of California

My sister scored Streetzblog some great pictures from a museum in Cali that featured SNEAKERS! Can you believe it, Sneakers, Kicks, Gym shoes, have made it to the museum and the Oakland Museum of California was PACKED with people checking out the vast selection of foot wear!

The exhibit featured over 140 iconic sneakers from the 19th century to present time 2017. Brands included:  Nike, Adidas, Puma,Reebok & a few extras.  Run DMC and B-Ball Dribbler extraordinaire,  Bobbito Garcia donated some of their cool kicks to add to the excitement.

You can learn more about the exhibit here:   Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture.

Which are your Fav’s. Let us know your thoughts or Fav’s in the comment section.   I personally vote for the White Nike Samples.    Enjoy the pictures that my sister spent 3 hours battling the crowds on a Sunday afternoon just for me to show to you!

See you on the Streetz! I’ll be checking out Adam Sandler this Sunday night. Should be funny!

OR x Nike Lab x HEAT!

Heat on the Street!

HyperFocal: 0

Olivier Rousteing x Nike Lab Mercurial 5.0 Flynit-Black/Gold/Metallic Metal Back Zip/Black Pull Tab

Nike Lab teams up with Balmain’s designer of the Celebs; Olivier Rousteing. This collection brings you High End Black and Gold Jackets and Pants for Men and Women. Along with 4 pairs of Football kicks. Including my favorite pair shown above. I like the Simplicity of the Style and the Gold Metallic Back Zip the best!

The whole collection is Black and Gold, Olivier’s favorite colors and the perfect Color-Way for an Olympic year!

I find it pretty amusing that most websites and bloggers are calling the shoes Football inspired. Which, YES, they are in most of the world. But even the U.S sites don’t mention that they are what people in the U.S call Soccer Kicks. I know I got in trouble 1x on YouTube for siting a movie as a Soccer movie. Almost incited an internet riot. So, they’re probably better off calling them Football compared to Soccer.  And The Whole Black and Gold ensemble is entitled the “NikeLab x Olivier Rousteing: Football Nouveau” collection. I just figure, I can take the Heat on the word Soccer. I think some are gonna’ be a little confused.

But in reality, this collection will most likely be worn more at the Club then on the Pitch/Field.

This is some pretty Styling Gear. Even though the hype is only 10 days. I suspect it will fly off the net and out of the NikeLab locations.

On June 2, 2016 you can try your best to cop the Kicks and Gear Here. For now, check out the Vid starring OR himself…Hey-Where’s his A-List posse of beautiful people? Playing Football? Maybe Soccer? Probably taking a nap, getting ready for the next party. Wherever they are, it’s good to see OR in action working and the collection is Pure Fire. 🙂

Don’t Sleep on the Puma x Rihanna Creeper

All Sold Out on the PUMA Site, You might Want to Head to the Store NOW if You want these!

GIF-Black Oatmeal Puma Creeper-Rihanna

Rihanna teamed up with PUMA for the Men’s and Women’s Punk influenced Creeper. Various colorways continue to release. But you’ll want to check back frequently to the PUMA site or sign up for the newsletter. As I last checked (11/22/15) The Black x Oatmeal colorway was Sold-Out for both Men and Women.

Check out the Rihanna x Travi$ Scott Creeper video below to see some Cool shots of the shoes and Hot shots of the two stars. Rumor has it they were crushing on each other during the vid shoot. I can’t really tell, Whatcha’ think of the possbible romance? And thoughts on the Punk influenced soles of the PUMA x Rihanna Creeeper Sneakers?

*BTW: The Daily Mail has the two hitting the 40/40 Club in NYC together on 11/20/15. They do look like a couple, however Rihanna is wearing some Pointy toed black Lace stiletto’s and Travi$ has some  blacked out  J’s on his feet. In my  opinion, they should be rocking their new Creeper Sneakers! I can give Rihanna a pass, since her Stiletto’s matched her outfit, but TraviS was wearing the competition’s gear. #whatsupwiththat

And The even BIGGER story at this moment in time (11/22/15) is:  Justin and Selena-Are they really back together?

Public School Update

The Missing Black and White Shoes were found on the Red Carpet and at SSENSE.

Public-School-Met-GalaThe Public School Website is running very low on most of their black and white Kicks. We found out where you can get  your own pair of the flashy patent black and white sneakers/black tie affair shoes.  They are available at SSENSE. There are also a few of the Pebble-Grain sneaks at the PSNY website and Derby’s on SSENSE in the same sweet colors available Today/May 7, 2015.    (A Streetzblog Wish-List for sure. But, could sell-out before I save up for them. Cost of any of the 3 is $440-$490). The Pair I like best is seen below and they are $480.  Enjoy the pix of the Kicks:

A couple weeks ago, a few of us were wondering what ever happened to the Chemical Brothers. And low and behold, they are back with a brand new video entitled: GO! See and Hear what you think?

Quality Kicks Created From Your Couch!

From Couch Potato to Kicks Creator-Vittel’s French Bottled Water Sofa Sneakers

Getting rid of your couch? Wait a second and grab some of the material so that Vittel Brand Water can turn your favorite couch into a pair of fresh, stylish (depends on your couch) newish kicks. The Vittel Couch Converter service is a marketing campaign to help deter the amount of time Europeans spend kickin’ it on their couch instead of kickin’ it on the courts.

Vittel will transform your old Couch/Sofa/Covered Furniture into a pair of personalized running shoes. Here’s the plan of attack:  Customers upload a  photo of their couch to Vittel’s website, then send in a slice of the fabric and a team of designers use said fabric to create a one of a kind pair of sneakers. Kicks are sent within a few weeks and you can see some of what they’ve already created on their website.

From what I can tell, the shoes are free, but seem limited to the first 10 people per month through August 15, 2015. Most of the Vittel information is in French, German or Japanese, so it’s a little hard to decipher all the details of this fun couch for kicks campaign.

The pictures I’ve noticed on the French Vittel website look pretty fresh, but so do the couches that were provided. Almost too nice to be real. Before you slice and dice your sofa, you might want to read some of the fine print of this promotion.

And whether it’s 60 pairs or 600 pairs of kicks, this will be a fun promotion to watch as the months go along. I think I may check out Goodwill and see what kinds of materials I can find there, then send them some and see what happens.

Since I’m such a big Sneakerhead, I love this promotion. FreeCustom Kicks!! And hopefully it will get some people more active ad healthy.  I know that just drinking water each day helps your digestion, hydration, skin, and general health. Throw in a new pair of kicks and you should be good to go.  Although, some of these kicks look too good to run in. So far, the kicks I’ve seen, look better to wear to a friends dinner party or a Sneaker Convention.

Check out the video for more of the deets:  See you on the Streetz:

Jimmy Got Shoe

I spot Some nice Patent on This video

Last year, I was very close to getting a pair of Jimmy Choo’s. They were Black patent leather. They just didn’t have my size and it was 8:55 p.m-Not the greatest time to shop.  I can’t quite tell what color these patent leather kicks are, but if they look as good in person as they do in this video, I just may need to re-visit my Jimmy Choo dealer. You may not even notice them, they flash across the screen so fast!

Also, it’s pretty sweet how this video uses 2 of the top 8 visual trends of 2015 in their video. Monochromatic Color and Sensory Immersion. These top 8 trends were announced earlier today (1/20/15) on an iStock Webinar. I’ll go over the top 8 iStock Top Visual Design trends in 2015 in-depth a little later this week. For those, who can’t wait, I’ve listed the trends below the video.

iStock Top Visual Design Trends For 2015:

  1. Point of View/POV
  2. Letterbox Look
  3. Busy with Boxes
  4. Monochromatic Color
  5. Sensory Immersion
  6. Super Still Life
  7. All Kinds of People
  8. Dynamic Women

See you on the Streetz on Oahu this week.

Stud City

New Louboutin’s for October 2014

Such a nice Shade of Blue!

Such a nice Shade of Blue.

Check out these styling new Louboutin’s for Men. So many Studs, Such fun colors. I suspect, also pretty pricey. But I’m afraid to look. If you want to see more of the new collection and dare to check the pricing, see  these and others on Louboutin’s French Website here.

I would probably get the black one’s first, just because I like to stay a bit ghost with my style. But the pair above have  a really nice shade of medium blue that doesn’t always come out, these might be the best bet for the money. The plaid pair would go nice with a dark brown suit. And Wow! Check out the candy colored studs. They look good enough to eat, like a retro candy necklace or sharper versions of the little dots of colored candies on the thin strips of paper. If you really want to meet some new people at a party, this is the pair to purchase.  Some very tasty treats!

See the trailer below for the Focus movie.  It has a bit of an independant vibe, yet stars Will Smith! Looks very exciting, suspenseful and a must see movie.

Stay Styling when it Rains in Cons rubber Kicks

Rain and J’s just don’t go together at all. Next time it pours get your Cons on. Converse is getting ready to debut their rubber versions of the long-standing, iconic street and court Chuck Taylor All-Star High-Top.  The perfect cop for your rain gear wardrobe. These kicks have a Wellington style upper that provides awesome protection from water situations. They also have a nice soft fleece lining, brass eyelets and a gusseted tongue.  The Rubber Kicks go on sale on September 15, 2014 in the USA. In-store and keep an eye out for them on-line. Adults ($65) Kids ($45)

Looks like a great shoe to wear in the slush in New York City, to a big muddy music fest or on a hike on a rainy day. I’m kinda digging the Purple or Yellow pair or maybe the white and I’ll trick them out with some colorful sharpies.  There is possibly a blue pair out there somewhere?  Just hard to find the picture.  Below are 5 of the colors. According to Converse there are 7 total color-ways.  Some websites say 6 and funny thing is there are pictures on the web of  of just 5 (9/7/14). Looks like Cons is keeping us on alert. Maybe a flourescent pink for October or I bet they come out with a hunter green or even a camo down the line.

Here’s a look at 5 of the bold, buttery, eye-catching, monochromatic, rain resistant colors:

What do you think of the new kicks? See you on the streetz of Honolulu. This Sunday I’ll be at Inspiration Furniture, the Hawaii Woman Expo and the BIA Hawaii Remodel it Green Remodel it Right show. Then Hopefully home for some food and rest. Have a nice Sunday. Ciao and Aloha. SM on SB.
