Y-3 F/W 2019-20
Y-3 is the Only Brand You Need
Runway Show Paris Fashion Week March 2019
If I could choose only one brand it would be Y-3. It can be worn at an upscale event, brunch, a Sporting event, on the streetz or even for lounging around the crib on a Sunday afternoon. Usual colors are Black + White and even when other colors are positioned in, they tend to look pretty nice.
The clothes are always made with superior high quality. Every pair of Y-3 pants I own are sturdy, solid and clean. I can actually feel the high standard of tailorshp that goes into them, when I wear them.
Although they can run a tad big at times. I do own a piece or 2 that are a bit big. If you get a chance, try them on. Pro Tip: SSENSE tends to have the best on-line sales. And Bloomingdale’s is the place to go for selection, quantity and to try the goods on for your fit. You may need to size down 1-2 sizes dependent on the year the Y-3 clothes are from. For this show they did run a tad Big. You can also catch Y-3 on the Adidas site, where you will find a pretty decent array of clothing and All of this season’s shoes.

Y-3 Springs into Summer 2019
Y-3 Fits on Point
Y-3 Runway Show Menswear Spring/Summer 2019
Sunday June 24, 2018 Paris, France-Musee des Arts Decoratifs
Y-3 is the sporty athlesuire brand designed by Yohji Yamamto in conjunction with Adidas. They tend to stick true to their black and white color palette, with hints of various colors each season. For SS 2019 we see some reds, greens, blues and a tannish beige/Off White. Y-3 is one of Streetzblog’s favorite brands. If we save up $$ for something, it’s usually Y-3, Rick Owens, Off-White or Alexander Wang x Adidas.
There’s plenty of time to save up, the clothes in this video will be ready to wear in Spring/Summer of 2019.
Y-3 enjoys the greatness of being able to work with ateliers in both Tokyo and Germany. Bringing the best of both Countries together. This collection shows the specialty cuts from Tokyo/Yohji Yamamoto with innovative texture of clothing from Germany/Adidas. One of the Hot, New fabrics is used right now (June 2018) by athletes and will be available for all of us to wear in 2019. It’s the lightest Gore-Tex ever made entitled Shakedry.
The Biggest plus from the show are the clothes are getting back to baggy. Flowing, yet crisp Silhouettes. Some leggings inside of bellowing shorts and wide leg pants, which takes us one step further away from the Skinny Jean Fad. And the Kicks are very nice and comfy with the rad Y-3 logo ever present.
This Runway show needs to be watched 2-5x to get the full effect. It’s hard to decide whether the clothes or the kicks are the Star. Both looks are on my Most Wanted List. If you look close at the clothes, you may see the new Y-3/Skull logo. It’s there, just a bit hard to find. See what you think of the clothes and kicks and let us know in the comments section. And if you can’t wait till Spring/Summer 2018, you can get some nice deals (up to 30% off) on the y-3 stacked logo, limited edition James Harden collection or some nice Bashyo’s here at Y3.com
Below are some of the Best looks from the Runway. Pictures courtesy of Vogue.com See more pix here at (Vogue.com) Shakedry name supplied by Vogue and WWD.
See you on the Streetz!
H&M x ERDEM & The Cinema of Flowers
H&M x ERDEM Short Film (This Years November H&M Designer Collection Update 10/23/17)
Hmmm. The master marketers at H&M are tapping into even me with their glorious films and photos. Dark Grey and Black are my go to colors and the Alexander Wang x H&M was my favorite collection. Didn’t think I would want anything ERDEM with all the flowers I’ve seen. But, alas, they put out a pretty rad looking film and I’m thinking of stopping by H&M on November 2nd 2017 to check the goods.
Recently, I was consumed by the fast paced Biker x Raver Alexander Wang x Adidas Collection. Watching the video over and over, checking the IG every few days and next thing you know, I have a pair of Fluorescent Orange Kicks on my feet. They are super comfortable, but way too bright for me.
Then I watch guys playing street ball in a PSNY Video and Now I have a pair of PSNY x Jordan 15’s, which are quite nice looking, yet nothing I should be buying with a credit card.
Do videos, Film, IG pix get you in the mood to shop? It sure works on me.
This film is done by Baz Luhrmann- He directed Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, The Great Gatsby, Strictly Ballroom and created the TV show The Get Down.
The Film’s super models include: Saskia de Brauw, Imaan Hammam, Grace Hartzel, Fernando Cabral, Neels Visser and Tony Ward. The music is Hypnotized by Years & Years.
See you on the Streetz or Maybe, Perhaps, I suspect at H&M on November 2nd!
Oakland Museum Kicks!
Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture
Oakland Museum of California
My sister scored Streetzblog some great pictures from a museum in Cali that featured SNEAKERS! Can you believe it, Sneakers, Kicks, Gym shoes, have made it to the museum and the Oakland Museum of California was PACKED with people checking out the vast selection of foot wear!
The exhibit featured over 140 iconic sneakers from the 19th century to present time 2017. Brands included: Nike, Adidas, Puma,Reebok & a few extras. Run DMC and B-Ball Dribbler extraordinaire, Bobbito Garcia donated some of their cool kicks to add to the excitement.
You can learn more about the exhibit here: Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture.
Which are your Fav’s. Let us know your thoughts or Fav’s in the comment section. I personally vote for the White Nike Samples. Enjoy the pictures that my sister spent 3 hours battling the crowds on a Sunday afternoon just for me to show to you!
See you on the Streetz! I’ll be checking out Adam Sandler this Sunday night. Should be funny!
Stan’s the Man & Raf is Daf!
Silver and Bronze Metallic’s
The Metallic Craze continues on into Spring 2016 with the Raf Simons x Adidas Stan Smith in these two very stylish Silver and Bronze colors. If you thought the 2015 bright orange SS’s were the bomb, these two beat that color-way by a few miles. Just not sure if the Metallic trend will last. Although, this silver pair is very, very tempting.
Other colors of the Raf Simons x Adidas Stan Smith Spring 2016 kicks include: White with Mint and Burgundy details, Solid Navy, Peach, and Lemon. There will also be the Stan Smith Aged version, which looks quite used and abused in off-white and black. Would be hard to pay the big bucks for the used looking version, I’d recommend the Metallics all the way to the bank and back.
See you on the streetz. Thursday lunch at Kats All you Can Eat Sushi, Thursday night at Pomokai Ballroom, Friday in Waikiki, Saturday on the radio from 3p-6p and Sunday probably not on the streetz…sleeping somewhere.
Fashion and Fitness Go Goth!
The Health Goth Craze

Health-Goth makes the cover of SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL. Issue #264. December 2014. A/W 2015-16 preview.
The Streetzblog definition of Health-Goth is: Awesome High-Tech, functional and fun fabrics that look just as good on the street as they do in the gym. Utilizing these 4 colors: Black, Grey, Silver and White. The Perfect example of Health-Goth is the Alexander Wang x H&M collection.
Rick Owens produces some great Health-Goth gear. He’s known for his oversized black and white Ramone’s Sneaker that shows homage to the Original Black and white Converse All-Stars:
Hood By Air/HBA is another brand leading the Health-Goth Look:
ADYN exemplifies the Health-Goth look with slightly longer cuts in the length of a Health-Goth shirt, High-Tech materials and the all black look:
Even Adidas is in on the Health-Goth Trend with Rita Ora: (Note: This collection added in a bit of Neon Yellow to the Health-Goth color palette. That’s ok, as long as it’s not the main color of the collection. A bit of Neon yellow or Flo Green goes well with the more sporty Health-Goth.
Whatever 21 shows us the Health-Goth look while hanging out at Home Depot. Notice, they go for more of a White color first, then the black in this collection. Different from the original Black clothing as the more dominate color. Enjoy the video:
Cottweiller has some nice grey’s mixed with whites, along with some pretty fab fabrics: Check out their website, it sure has a very futuristic vibe to it. Almost like playing a video game when checking out the various looks.
Some of the original Health-Goth proponents are already saying the trend is dead. But as you can see by the following excerpt from New York magazine. The Health-Goth craze is still trending in the City and at the Gym.
For the Instagram Celebrity: KITH 644 Broadway Near Bleeker St. 646-6486285 Brooklyn-based Snarkeitectue helped redesign Ronnie Fieg’s luxury-sneaker shop last Fall. Making Room for more paparazzi friendly neoprene Y-3’s and pebbled leather Buscemi high-tops ($865) not to mention branded KITH hoodies and Health-Goth sweatpants. And for the Future is Now image of Health-Goth, I bring you an image from Today’s/Saturday March 27, 2015 Instagram feed. Alexander Wang’s Foam Injected leather T-Shirt from the Men’s Spring 2015 collection.
See you on the Streetz, Actually, Now I’m headed over to the gym to get my Health-Goth groove on. Going to wear my Black Quicksilver Eddie Would Go surf shorts, a plain all black H&M long sleeve T-Shirt and my Alexander Wang x H&M Scuba inspired Kicks. I hope to get more healthy than goth today. We shall see by where I turn up after the gym. Have a nice week!
Right on Rita
Rita Ora x Adidas
I’m not going to write much, just going to show pictures of Rita Ora x Adidas, and a couple pix from the Terry Richardson photo shoot. I just like the vibe and the styling of both. And am taking a break from a very time consuming blog post I have in my draft section. Enjoy!
See you on the streetz of many Halloween events and parties. And hopefully at the beach on Sunday, If I can wake up and get out of the house!
The Twilight Sky’s High to the Hoop
The New D Rose 4 “Chicago Nightfall”
Derrick Rose is Back in action for the 2013-14 NBA Season. He’s already given Chicago a blast of excitement with a swishing floater with less than 6 seconds left to beat the Knicks 82-81 on Halloween. This week he has a slight set back with a sore hamstring, but he’ll be around this season to light it up in Chicagoland.
The new Adidas D Rose 4 Sneaker’s newest colorway Rocks the City of Chicago with accents of the City. Including the purple that represents the twilight sky soaring above Lake Michigan. Growing up in Chicago, I know this color very well, It wasn’t quite this bright when I lived there, but it sure was a sweet combination of purplish, grey toned Black. This color is embedded in my memory bank for the rest of my life. Nice how they Adidas designed these kicks with the sky-line in mind.
Also notice the purple, white, yellow and aqua accents in the lining representing Chicago’s City Lights or as someone who grew up in Chicago, the Summer hues that allowed us to play B-Ball into the night.
If I wasn’t on my annual October 1-December 18, no new kicks/no new clothes buying Time-Out, I would consider picking up a pair of these joints. I’ll just have to see what’s brewing in NYC on December 18 and Chicago on December 23rd. I so can’t wait until my self-imposed no new kicks no new clothes Time-Out is done. For the rest of you, the “Chicago Nightfall” drop on November 21, 2013.
Very Vanquish
Life is like an ever-shifting kaleidoscope-a slight change, and all patterns alter-Sharon Salzberg
I think this quote goes well with these kicks..dont you?
One of my really good friends emailed me the other day and said he was in Tokyo, I immediately said “Get me some street clothes magz and stop by Vanquish in Shibuya”. That BTW is what I always tell people who go to Japan. This friend actually went to Vanquish..I still dont know about the magazines, but these pix are awesome! I feel like I went there myself.
Ever since I saw those patent leather Hi-top Brogues from Vanquish I have wanted to go to Japan just to go to this store! I even took 8 weeks of Japanese class in preparation for my future trip.
I couldn’t believe it when my friend said he was a few blocks from what I think is my favorite store I’ve never been to. And checkity-check it out-He procured us some pretty slick pix! I dig these multi colored Adidas x Jeremy Scott Kicks. I suspect you can find them at barneys.com, but it’s much more fun seeing them at the Vanquish store in Shibuya. All pictures courtesy of my good friend-Stephen.
One day I will make it there. Until then Enjoy the pictures from my friend. Here’s the Kicks I wore on Easter Sunday! I think the picture is deserving of a blog entry. Whatcha’ Think? It’s been triple filtered with Photoshop Lite, Snapseed and Instagram.
Here’s the New trailer for The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCaprio(Blood Diamond, Basketball Diaries & of course Titanic), Carey Mulligan (Wall Street, Public Enemies) Tobey Maguire(Spiderman), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers&London) and Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark 30, Smokin’ Aces & Warrior). The newest trailer features quick snippets of some new music by Beyonce, Andre 3000 and Florence + The Machine. And BIG rumours that Jay-Z will be hitting us up with a new track for the film!
My sister was reading this book back in November 2012, I borrowed it at the beach a couple of times, but for some reason it really was confusing to me. By the looks of the trailer that confusion will turn into #goodtimes. And I say pretty much any movie with Leonardo in it tends to ROCK!. So, I’ll be there May 10th for the first showing. Looks and sounds good and check out the Mansion they live in!! Wowza!
If you get a chance tune into KTUH.org on Saturday April 6 from 6p-9p HST, I/Sniper Wells will be filling in for Nocturna on the Feast of Friends Show. I’ll be playing some classic Industrial Dance, Goth, Underground 80’s and of course some “Ultra Bangin’ Beats!” Have a Great Weekend.
