A couple of weeks ago, I stopped by the H&M in Hawaii and Wow! Did they have a sale or what? Many very wearable items from $1-$25. Including a few items I picked up: A crisp clean striped pocket square for $1, a groovy pair of grey Rock & Roll jeans for $7, a retro sweat jacket and trendy, comfy plaid pajama pants for $15. Right now, H&M has some great $4 Deals just in time for July 4, 2014.
Don’t Miss the upcoming David Beckham for H&M Fall 2014 bodywear August 21, 2014.
And Don’t forget the H&M x Alexander Wang Collab coming up on November 6, 2014.
I’ve been hitting the streetz of Waikiki, Downtown-Chinatown, and Ala Moana Shopping Center taking pictures of one of this Summers Biggest trends (Hint: Straw). As soon as I have enough pictures, I’ll do the blog post. Until then, see you on the streetz of HI.
Brand Spotlight-StampdLA-June 2014
Chris Stamp created StampdLA with one screen printed T-shirt back in 2009 and the rest is history. Today the brand can be purchased online or at places like Harvey Nichols and Colette amongst others. StampdLA has been seen on everyone from Miley Cyrus to A$AP Rocky to the Big Bang Band. Items include Shirts, Tanks, Shorts, Outerwear, Accessories and Bags. With a new Shoe line coming in 2015 which will be produced in Italy.
The brand tends to use a monochromatic color palette of mostly blacks and whites with interesting and unusual cuts. Let’s take a look at some of the newest looks:
A couple of my favorite pieces: A speedy egg-shaped surfboard and Check out how the Large lettered 3D embossed Los Angeles embroidery goes almost all the way round the Snap Back. Nice eh?
And one of Streetzblog’s Biggest Trend Alert’s for Summer 2014, the Black and White Long-Sleeve Mesh Shirts:
Jimmy Choo Spring/Summer 2015 London Runway Show
It’s only June 18, 2014 and Jimmy has your Choo’s Ready to Rock in Spring and Summer 2015. Just when you thought you had all the shoes you need, a video like this appears on YouTube. There’s so many nice kicks on here, I’m glad I have lots of time to save up for 2015. Check out the video on YouTube or look at some more pictures from fashionising.com, see what your favorites are, then take a look-see at my highlight list from the Jimmy Choo SS 2015 London Runway Show.
- Patent Leather Hi-Tops: Patent and Hi-Tops, 2 of my Favorite words and three Different pairs to choose from. Gold, Silver and black. Wow!
- Comfort: Almost all of the Choo Shoes shown have comfy looking soles. Lots of crepe, rubber, and plenty of bounce in most of the collection. I like comfortable shoes and this collection definitely look comfy.
- Colorful Monk Strap Brogues: These get me almost as quick as Patent Hi-Tops, yet I’m still don’t own a pair. Usually the soles are hard leather so I don’t buy em’. These look tempting, since they look a bit more comfortable and for sure very colorful in light blue, yellow and orange. Maybe these are 3 colors to be on the look out for in SS 2015?
- Sockless: I do like the look, just not sure if my feet can take the beating. And look at how high the pants are rolled up. Italy? Paris? Maybe Miami? Would be quite daring here in Hawaii.
Which are your favorites? Or least preferable? Anyone know any of the models in the vid? Maybe I could get a pair for Summer 2014? Seems like a looong wait for SS 2015 Have a nice Summer 2014. According to the calendar, the official first day of Summer is this Saturday June 21st. I tend to like the old system of the first day of Summer being Memorial Day weekend and the last is Labor Day Monday. Here, where I live it’s Summer all year-long, except in Summer-Time the sun can burn you a bit more and the Waves are bigger on the South Shore/ the side I live on. If you live in Hawaii or come for a visit, you need to be just a bit more careful by using additional sunscreen 30+ or over and especially more cautious with the waves. I wouldn’t recommend a surf lesson when the waves are bigger than 4 feet. As a surfer told me last week when I was getting bashed about, It’s pretty Gnarly out here today, you may want to go inside the reef. It was a 5-7 foot day and Hawaiian waves are actually double what the meteorologist tells us they are, thus a 5 foot wave is actually 10 feet tall!

Rob the original brings Major Hair Flair to the NBA Play-Offs
Rob the Barber’s got it going on with some amazing designs just in time for the NBA Play-Offs. I’m not a big fan of the Heat or the Spurs, but these hair designs are out of this world. Somehow I was lucky enough to stumble upon Rob on my Instagram earlier today, so I could show these pix to you. From what I gather, he uses standard barber clippers and razors for the cut and colored eye liner to make the fun and exciting colors. Here are more Spurs and Heat themed pictures of his designs:
Here is a selection of some the hottest designs from Rob:
And my 3 favorite super-fantastic-amazing color art pieces:

Andre the Giant + Obey = Shepard Fairey = The Most Famous Underground Mainstream Art and Person in the World
You’ve seen the black and white circular man’s head (Andre the Giant) on the streetz, the T’s on the Teens, Hoodies on the 40 or 50 somethings, even the Obama Hope campaign. . Maybe you know who created this art, maybe you don’t. This video tells very candidly who Shepard Fairey is and why he does what he does.
Today is June 2014, 8-10, mabye 12 years ago Shepard visited Hawaii. Me, always looking for the trend before the trend already had my distressed Obey sweat shirt from years before that. So, I heard he was painting a skate park near my house. It was pretty funny, I was expecting a mad house of people and hipsters. I arrived very early in the morning for me on a Saturday (9:30 a.m.) it was just me and him and like 3 other dudes wandering around. About all that happened was I walked over and said Hi, Asked if he needed any help, got blank stares, then looked around a bit, walked back to my car and went home. Nowadays I suspect I would have seen many more people there and I would have taken pictures and blogged about it. He was for sure still on the underground tip at least out here in Hawaii. And today in 2014 it’s still cool to wear an Obey T and for some reason even with Obama art going way mainstream, the shirts tend to be worn by the modern day hipsters and trendsetters. How does he stay so underground yet so mainstream?
That same week, I also remember going to an art discussion a day or 2 after the skate park installation. It did have lots of people at it, but it was boring so I left. The last thing I remember about him coming to Hawaii was being at the contemporary Museum of Art up in the hills above the High School and almost buying a silk screen print for $50. I of course, thought I wanted an original for that price. Silly me, that $50 print goes for more than $1,200 last I checked. But I’m the same person who didn’t buy a Basquait T in the late 80’s. Hey it was $80 and that was when T’s never went above $20. Now Givenchy has $350 T’s, that probably don’t turn into big time money over time like the Basquiat would have. You know, it was funny, even for $80, I did spend a bit of anxious thought about buying the T, there was just something about it. But that was when I traveled with $300 in cash without a credit card. That 4 day trip to NY would have been pretty ugly without the 80 bucks, but I would sure like to have the $50,000 or whatever its worth now.
Next artist I find, I’m buying whatever they’re selling. The funniest place I noticed an Andre the Giant sticker was in a bathroom stall at the JFK airport in NYC. Where’s the coolest place you’ve seen Shepard’s art? BTW: What’s the most expensive T-shirt you’ve ever seen? See you on the streetz or on the streetz…blog.
Air Jordan Flashcards
Check out these Air Jordan Flashcards. Play with friends and see who knows their J’s the Best. Out of the first 20, I could do pretty well up until 15-19. After a couple plays, easy parcheesie. But just like Jordan’s these cards created by Kevin Lyons are limited to just 250 sets. I’d like to play the game, but I suspect many will keep these on ice just like the kicks.
I wouldn’t pay double or triple for a card game, that’s for sure. It does give me a good idea to have some fun and still get to play the game. Just go on-line, copy, print and cut up all the J’s you can find, laminate them, then play with your fellow sneakerheads. Sounds like a plan. And you get to play the game with the even more styling color versions of the kicks. Adding to this idea, put together an Air Jordan Flash Card Game Night. Play the card game, eat some Ballpark franks, Drink some Gatorade, maybe have a cigar or two, watch some Bulls Games on VHS. And don’t forget to buy, sell, and trade your kicks. Sweet! who’s ready to Partay?
To get you ready to play the card game or just have fun re-living your Airness’ career. Have fun seeing Jordan in over 30 minutes of Nike Air Jordan commercials. Enjoy!
Jack & Jones and Christopher Walken
The suave and super cool Christopher Walken brings a peculiar yet very fun to watch vibe to revitalize the Jack & Jones brand. Watch him in Made from Cool, 5 different short films as he makes clothes in the most manly, coolest and fascinating ways possible. He runs the gambit of a fashion designer utilizing the following 5 skills: Tailoring, Sewing, Knitting, Cutting up fabric (my favorite) and ends the series by Shearing a sheep with his bare hands.
Christopher would be called a Renaissance man in the main stream media, I’d just call him the Coolest. See him in one of the biggest Dance Videos of all time as he moves and grooves his way through Fat Boy Slim’s Weapon of Choice. These shoes were made for Walken’ and lots of Dancin’.
If you want to check out Walken in his main profession of acting in movies, give one of these a try:
- King of New York
