DMX in Paradise-TU!!

Thank You to DMX for the Great personalized Autograph today.  He was looking pretty sharp, crisp white T, nice bling and I didn’t get a chance to check his kicks, but looks like he’s been keeping healthy and active.

Thanks to Shannon Okimoto for hooking up the cool Autograph.  And if you’re on Oahu tomorrow/Saturday June 30th make sure you check him out.  He’s performing Live in Concert at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.  Tickets available at tickemaster.com or email the promoters directly at hawaiidmx@gmail.com.. I’m sure they can hook you up with the best tix.  And probably some after hours action.  Just tell them that Streetzblog sent you.  Have a great weekend! If you go to the show let me know how you liked it!

Shackle Shoes-Cop or Not?

About All I want to say about these, is would you where them? Cop or Not? Can’t tell who they are made for? Maybe Charlie Sheen or Lindsay Lohan Fans? Or kids, hipsters, I really don’t know? Fill out the survey and let us know if you would cop or not? Me-I don’t think I have anywhere to wear them to. If I can think of a place to wear them..then maybe.  or maybe they were made so people like me would give them free publicity by writing about them?  I really don’t know.

At least you don’t get kicked in the Head!

Survivor TV Show Try-Outs and The “Chuck Norris” Shot

Yesterday I was at the Survivor TV show Try-Outs at Wet n Wild Hawaii.  It was pretty fun, I couldn’t tell you exactly how man people tried out, but at least a couple hundred.  The best one was this lady who first said she was kinda’ hippyish which was a bit far from what was next to come. First, she had on a T-shirt that said something like “Don’t let your Boyfriend look here, or I may steal them”, then she talked a bit more than busted out a HUGE machete and swung it through the air as if she was blazing a trail on some deserted island. Then to top it off, she said that at her real job …she “harvested” organs.  Which meant if you have the “organ Donor” insignia on your license, she was the person that took the goodies out of you and could do it in less than 20 minutes.  She’s probably a shoe-in for one of the contestants on an upcoming show.

Now for the Chuck Norris Shot-Photo Courtesy of streetzblog correspondent Erik Knox-Shot Ingredients and Directions courtesy of Nefi Martinez.

Now back to the title of the blog, when I was at the try-outs, my co-worker-Nefi who hits the clubs at least 2-3 times a week told me about this crazy shot called the ‘Chuck Norris’. It was so insane, I figured if you haven’t heard of it, now’s the time to get the 411.   As you will see, I suspect it’s something you would probably only do once or twice a year, sounds pretty frickin’ brutal to me!

Ingredients and Instructions for the “Chuck Norris” as described by Nefi in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 16, 2012.

Ingredients:  Coarse Sea Salt similar to what you would put around a Margarita Glass, a Credit Card,  2 x fresh cool juicy lime slices, 2 shot glasses filled to the brim with Ice Cold Patron Silver Tequila, and a Hot waitress.

Instructions:  (Here goes, it’s probably not what you think!)

  1. Pour the Coarse Sea Salt on the table, take credit card and form the salt into a straight line about an 1/8th of an inch think and 3 inches long.

  2. Inhale the salt through your nose-shake face or scream; whatever happens-happens at this point.

  3. Take the two fresh, cool, succulent lime slices and squeeze lime #1 into eye number one then take lime #2 and squeeze into eye number two.  Squint, cry or whatever at this point.

  4. Slam down shot number one, then shot number two of the ice-cold Patron Silver Tequila.  Whew-Finally the drink and guess what? the torture..I mean the Chuck Norris experience isn’t done yet!

  5. Get slapped in the face by the HOT waitress. Yep, not Joking.

  6. Hope your hangover isn’t as bad as this drinking experience. At least you didn’t get kicked in the head!

DisclaimerStreetzblog doesn’t encourage this behavior and for sure we will not be held responsible if it hurts, stings, burns or gets you messed up.  It’s just something crazy that we heard on the streetz and think it’s worth writing about.

Let us know if you’ve ever heard of this? Done it?  Or have another fun celebrity drink recipe for our readers?

Or if you try it after you read this, LMK how it went?  Have a nice week. Happy Father’s Day!

No Yeezy’s but Got Melo’s

Yeah, I know the other night I said I didn’t need any Nike Air Yeezy 2’s because I could just look behind my couch or in my closet for a new pair of Kicks.  But, when all the hype  happens for a new shoe and there is THAT MUCH HYPE I end up breaking down and either getting that shoe or something else.  This time I checked Nike.com about 8-9 times for the Air Yeezy in Black/Solar Red, but then on Monday when my friend said he needed a new pair of work-out shoes, I said let’s go to Footlocker NOW.  We went, he bought his Adidas Kicks that will be put to good use and were a purchase useful and needed. Me, ever since I saw Carmelo wearing these in the 3rd play-off game, I’d been eying them on the web. So, when we got to FL and I found out that they were on sale, I put them on walked 3 steps around the store and bought them.

Not exactly sure where or when I’ll wear them other than out of the store..LOL! But, now my shopping urge is gone and I’m a happy (non) camper.  “Non” as in didn’t camp for Yeezy’s. hehehe.  It’s funny but the only Nike’s that don’t seem to hurt my feet are the Jordan 3’s, Lebron 3’s and the special pair of Blazers I have.  Sure hope these new Fly-Wire dealeo’s don’t hurt. I’ll let you know when I wear them.  Next blog will be “What to get for Father’s Day”  Until then..Have a nice Night!

Nike Air Yeezy-2 set to release this Saturday June 9, 2012

This morning I checked Shoes-up.com to see what’s going on around the world on the streetz and I noticed info on the Nike Air Yeezy 2. According to the French site, these extremely popular coveted kicks are set to release this Saturday June 9, 2012. After reading this, I checked Nicekicks.com and they also confirmed the release date. And since we’ve gotten so much pre hype on this shoe and many fake release dates, I also checked nikeinc.com and they also confirmed the release date of June 9th. So looks like it’s happening this Saturday. Check Nikeinc.com for some stores that may have these at retail pricing or get ready for some extra-large prices on E-Bay next week.

Update: Kicks HI has some on Oahu-But not many.  21 Mercer in NYC has some and various House of Hoops locations are starting to let people know via twitter and on line enter to wins.  They’re trying not to have a big bad scene like what happened all-star weekend with the Galaxy Foamposites.  The Shoe game getting harder or easier depending how you look at it. Me, I’m somehow cool for now. I just look in the closet or behind the couch and find new kicks to wear when I get the craving.  Anyone need some Lebron First game shoes-I got two pair of them that don’t even fit! LOL

Getting ready for the TD’s at the PB!

The NFC vs the AFC-Pro Bowl 2012-Picture courtesy of streetzblog.com

Just this past Wednesday the NFL gave Hawaii some great news-The 2013 NFL Pro Bowl will be back and played in Hawaii on Sunday January 27, 2013.  This is great news for Oahu’s economy and for all the awesome things we will be doing in January!  From what I gathered with the math I did in my head, they needed to make a decision between Hawaii and New Orleans by the end of May.  And they came in right under the wire by letting us know the great news on May 30, 2012.  From the look and feel of the press release, it seems the players pushed hard for Hawaii and won!  From seeing them year after year at the beach on their mopeds and at the parties, I’m sure this is where they want to play the game!  According to Ray Anderson .. the NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations: “The players have made it clear through the NFL players association that they would like the opportunity to continue to play the pro bowl in Hawaii”.  And “The players believe tha the Por Bowl is an important tradition” said NFLPA President Domonique Foxworth. The Picture above is courtesy of streetzblog.com from the 2012 Pro Bowl, being there on site of the game, I sure had a great time! Tons of action, beautiful sun, great parties before and after the game and the game itself seemed pretty exciting to me-lots of offense with tons of touch-downs.  I can’t wait for the next Pro Bowl in 2013!
